V&A Dundee

V&A Dundee is Scotland’s first design museum and the first Victoria and Albert museum located outside of London. Opened in 2018, this landmark institution serves as a "living room for the city" and an anchor for the regeneration of the waterfront.

The building is a work of art itself, designed by architect Kengo Kuma with an exterior inspired by Scotland’s eastern cliffs. The structure features 780 tonnes of pre-cast concrete slabs and an outer wing that expands onto the River Tay. It has been recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the best places to visit in the world.

Visitors can explore the Scottish Design Galleries, which feature 300 objects ranging from fashion to video game design. A major highlight is the Oak Room, a restored 1908 tearoom designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. You can also enjoy permanent exhibitions detailing the building's architecture or attend world-class temporary exhibitions.
