St Fillan's Church

St Fillan’s is one of Scotland’s oldest churches, with origins dating back to the early 12th century. Built in Norman style and consecrated in 1178, it features a simple nave and chancel later expanded with a south aisle and transept. Restored in the 1920s after falling into disrepair, the church sits near Aberdour Castle and overlooks the Firth of Forth. Inside, stained-glass windows reflect centuries of spiritual and artistic heritage. Still an active place of worship, St Fillan’s continues to serve the community today, preserved through local efforts to maintain its historical and cultural legacy.
