St Andrew's Cathedral, also known as Inverness Cathedral, is the seat of the Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness. Situated near the banks of the River Ness, it holds the distinction of being the first new Protestant cathedral completed in Great Britain since the Reformation.
This historic site was designed by architect Alexander Ross and built using red Tarradale stone with Peterhead granite columns. Though the original design included two giant spires, these were never completed. Visitors can admire the great Western window, which depicts "Christ in Majesty at the Last Judgement."
Inside, you can experience the world’s most northerly peal of change-ringing bells. The cathedral features beautiful stained glass windows designed by Hardman & Co, providing a serene and significant atmosphere for all who visit.
