Royal Musselburgh Golf Club
25 minute walk from Wallyford station · Edinburgh and South East

Royal Musselburgh Golf Club combines deep heritage with a beautifully crafted golf test. Established in 1774, it's one of the world's oldest clubs and hosts the Old Club Cup, the oldest trophy still contested annually. In 1925 the club moved to its current home at Prestongrange House near Prestonpans, set in scenic parkland that overlooks the Firth of Forth. The 18-hole course, designed by the legendary James Braid, stretches roughly 6,200 yards to a par of 70. Its layout rewards accuracy over raw power, with tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkers (notably the tricky 14th “Gully Hole”), and well-kept greens. The baronial clubhouse is grand and welcoming, with a rich collection of golfing memorabilia.
