Pittencrieff Park

Pittencrieff Park, known locally as “the Glen,” is Dunfermline’s best-known green space, gifted to the town by Andrew Carnegie in 1903. Spread across 76 acres, it combines landscaped gardens, woodlands, and open lawns with historic features such as Pittencrieff House and views of Dunfermline Abbey. The park is home to peacocks, squirrels, and a variety of birdlife, making it popular with nature lovers as well as walkers. Winding paths lead through quiet wooded areas, while the glasshouse and formal gardens add colour and interest. With cafés, play areas, and cultural events, it is both a community hub and a peaceful retreat.
