Dunfermline Abbey
11 minute walk from Dunfermline City station · Stirling, Central and Fife · Free entry

Dunfermline Abbey is one of Scotland’s most historic churches. Founded in the 11th century by Queen Margaret, it became a centre of medieval power and religion. Many Scottish kings and queens were buried here, including Robert the Bruce, whose name is carved into the great tower. The Abbey combines a striking Romanesque nave with later Gothic features. Today it remains a working church as well as a heritage site. Surrounded by Pittencrieff Park and palace ruins, it offers a rich mix of architecture, history, and atmosphere.
