HMS Unicorn

HMS Unicorn is a surviving Leda-class sailing frigate and one of the last intact warships from the age of sail. Located in Dundee, this historic vessel is the oldest ship in the country and is listed as part of the National Historic Fleet.
It is remarkably significant as one of the most original preserved ships of its era, retaining 90 percent of its original fabric. Built in 1824 with a unique circular stern and iron-strengthened hull, the ship avoided active sea service, leaving its timbers and internal structure exceptionally well-preserved.
Visitors can explore a unique museum ship that served as a headquarters during both World Wars and accepted the surrender of a German submarine in 1945. You can see the original 19th-century construction and learn about the ship's future as it undergoes restoration and a move to the East Graving Dock.
