Elgin Museum is a historic local history museum located in a Category A listed building on Elgin’s High Street. Opened in 1843, it is one of Scotland’s oldest independent museums and is currently run by The Moray Society.
The museum is particularly significant for its fossil collection, which is officially classed as a Recognised Collection. Visitors can discover fascinating displays, including the bones of a 375 million-year-old predator discovered only three miles away.
