Duthie Park

Duthie Park is a 44-acre public park in the Ferryhill area of Aberdeen, located near the River Dee. Gifted to the city in 1881 by Elizabeth Crombie Duthie for the recreation of residents, the park has been restored to its original nineteenth-century glory following a significant refurbishment.

The site is home to the David Welch Winter Gardens, featuring notable collections of giant cacti and bromeliads within its tropical and arid houses. Visitors can also explore a commemorative Japanese Garden and view historic art, including the granite Duthie Fountain and a statue of the goddess Hygieia.

There is much to enjoy across the grounds, from paddle boats and kayaks on the pond to children’s play areas and a refurbished cafe. You can discover unique features like the musical "Hornchestra" installation or view railings decorated with metal cats salvaged from the city’s Union Street.
