Dundee Law is the highest point in Dundee. Located in the city centre, this prominent hill is the remains of a volcanic sill formed around 400 million years ago. Its summit stands over 150 metres above sea level, making it a landmark feature of the local skyline.
The site is rich with history, showing evidence of human settlers from 3500 years ago and an Iron Age Pictish settlement. It was used as a lookout post by Romans and served as the starting point for the first Jacobite rising in 1689. Today, a large war memorial to the fallen of both world wars stands at the top.
Visitors can enjoy one of the best views in Scotland. The summit features a memorial that is lit during night hours with LED bulbs, and on significant days, a large flame is lit at its top. You can explore a location that has appeared in television drama and even served as the site for a "Beanotown" sign.
