Cathedral of St Mary of the Assumption

St Mary's Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located at 20 Huntly Street in Aberdeen. Designed by Alexander Ellis and opened in 1860, it serves as the seat of the Bishop of Aberdeen.

The building features a spire and bells added in 1877 to mark its transition to cathedral status. Inside, visitors can see a 1978 stained glass window dedicated to St John Ogilvie and an organ dating back to 1887. The cathedral also houses monuments to four Scottish bishops and is the burial site for John MacDonald, Colin Grant, and William Monsignor Stopani.

Visitors can enjoy the simplified interior and attend various services. In addition to daily services, the cathedral hosts a weekly Polish mass and a monthly Spanish mass.
