Shewalton Wood

Shewalton Wood is a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve and one of the Irvine Greenspaces. This diverse site features a mosaic of native woodland, grassland, and wetland areas, including two large ponds and a network of water-filled channels.
The reserve is significant for its native woodland regeneration project and its role in the Ayrshire Nectar Network, which enhances habitats for pollinators. It serves as a vital home for a variety of species, ranging from roe deer and foxes to common lizards and adders.
