Our Lady of the Assumption & St. Meddan's RC Church

Our Lady of the Assumption & St. Meddan’s is a Roman Catholic church in Troon. Built in 1910, it is considered one of the finest examples of the latter Gothic Revival. The building and presbytery were funded by the 4th Marquess of Bute.

Designed by Reginald Fairlie, the church features a monumental character inspired by Norman architecture. Notable exterior details include a powerful west tower topped with a delightful crown spire and finials, alongside a nave with buttresses.

Visitors will experience a calm interior with stone walls and an open timber roof featuring carved angels. The space is adorned with stone, marble, and mosaic reredos, as well as a pulpit with linen-fold carved details. The church is open daily until 4:00 pm.
