Nairn Museum is an independent museum located in Viewfield House, a classic Regency-era building. Founded in 1858, it preserves and explores the vibrant heritage of Nairn and Nairnshire, sharing stories that connect communities across generations.
The museum brings together many local perspectives, from the area’s farming roots and natural beauty to the unique culture of Fishertown. Visitors can explore powerful stories in the military room, covering events from the battles of Auldearn and Culloden to the World Wars.
Open six days a week, the museum features four gallery rooms filled with rich collections. You can discover maritime history, enjoy seasonal events for all ages, and experience a variety of exhibitions. Entry is by donation, and visitors are warmly welcomed to explore the many stories on display.
