Knox's United Free Church

Knox United Free Church is a historic Gothic-style church situated on Mill Street in Montrose. Originally opened in 1851 as a United Presbyterian church, this category B-listed building features a striking three-gabled sandstone ashlar frontage adorned with decorative pinnacles.

The church is celebrated for its remarkably fine and intact interior decoration. Visitors can admire the grand pulpit, which features an ornate wrought-iron and brass balustrade. The space is further enriched by stained glass depicting classic Gospel stories from St Luke, such as the Prodigal Son and the Journey to Emmaus.

Open by arrangement, the church invites visitors to explore its beautiful furnishings and peaceful atmosphere. You are also welcome to attend Sunday services held at 11:00 am to experience the heritage of this long-standing community landmark in Angus.
