The Church of the Holy Rood is a Scottish Episcopal Church located in Carnoustie. Dedicated in 1881, the building was designed by Alexander Ross in an early Scottish Gothic style. Built with local stone from Carmyllie and Fife, the church features a striking round bell tower similar to that of Brechin Cathedral.
The interior is celebrated for its simple yet severe beauty, featuring red sandstone walls and pitch pine woodwork. Visitors can admire a collection of stained-glass windows spanning over 100 years of design, including a memorial to the Piper Alpha disaster.
