Barry Parish Church

Barry Parish Church is a historic house of worship situated in the heart of Barry village. While the current building dates back to 1888, the presence of a Christian church in this rural parish spans more than 750 years, with possible links to the disciples of St Ninian.

Visitors can explore a site rich in heritage, reflecting centuries of local history from its 13th-century connection to Balmerino Abbey to the 19th-century Disruption. Within the village, you can find the ruins of an 1800s parish church located in the middle of the graveyard.

In the present building, you can see an organ that was moved here during the 1950s when two local congregations merged. Surrounded by the history of former schools and manses, the church remains a central part of the community’s long-standing religious identity.
