Originally built in 1902 and later designed by architect James Braid in 1920, Girvan Golf Course features a unique 18-hole layout managed by the local council.
The location is significant for its distinct terrain, divided into two contrasting parts. The opening eight holes consist of pure links along the Ayrshire coastline, offering views of Ailsa Craig. The remaining ten holes transition into parkland, where the river that gives the town its name winds through the landscape.
Visitors can enjoy a varied playing experience that blends seaside challenges with lush parkland scenery. The course includes a putting green, a chipping area, and a clubhouse with locker rooms. While navigating the grounds, guests can take in views of the 17th green and the elevated 18th tee box.
