Fountain Gardens
7 minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Street station · Glasgow and West Central

Fountain Gardens is Paisley’s oldest public park. Originally known as Hope Temple Gardens, the site was redesigned by landscape architect James Craig Niven and gifted to the community by industrialist Thomas Coats in 1868. Today, it offers beautiful recreational parkland and garden areas for all to enjoy.
The park features the Grand Central Fountain, a rare Category A listed monument adorned with statues of dolphins, herons, cherubs, and walruses. Visitors can also see a statue of Robert Burns, erected in 1896, which stands adjacent to the ornate central fountain.
While exploring, you can appreciate the park's geometric layout and broad walkways. The grounds include a rock garden and alpine beds, providing a peaceful setting to admire the historic architecture and vibrant local heritage.
