Birnam Institute
4 minute walk from Dunkeld & Birnam station · Stirling, Central and Fife · Free entry

Birnam Arts, originally known as the Birnam Institute, is a multipurpose arts and conference centre. This community-owned facility functions as a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to serving the local area.
The site boasts a rich history dating back to 1883. Planned by John Kinnaird, the building has evolved from a Victorian institute into a modern, renovated space. Over the years, it has served many roles, including providing accommodation and entertainment for the military during both World Wars.
Visitors can explore a vibrant community hub that was expanded and updated in 2001. Though it once housed public baths and a library, today’s centre offers a versatile venue for arts and events. You can enjoy a sense of history within a building that remains a vital part of Scottish village life.
