Ardgowan Distillery
35 minute walk from Inverkip station · Glasgow and West Central

Ardgowan Distillery is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky distillery located on the historic Ardgowan Estate near Inverkip. Following a long history dating back to 1896, the site has been transformed into a modern £12 million facility.
The distillery is famous for its dramatic past, including a 1903 fire that sent a "river of flaming whisky" through the streets and its service producing fuel for RAF planes during World War II. Today, the new distillery emphasises quality, having invested £100m in Sherry casks for its production.
Visitors can now explore the site through guided tours to see the production of their signature spirit. The estate features a dedicated visitor centre where you can learn about the 2025 opening and the first casks filled at this revitalised landmark.
