Scottish Seabird Centre
14 minute walk from North Berwick station · Edinburgh and South East

The Scottish Seabird Centre is an award-winning marine conservation and education charity located in North Berwick. Opened in 2000 as a Millennium Commission flagship project, the centre was sustainably constructed using local stone, wood, and metal to offer panoramic coastal views.
Visitors can explore the Discovery Experience, which features interactive cameras providing live views of islands like the Bass Rock, home to one of the world’s largest northern gannet colonies. You can observe puffins, seals, and dolphins through mechanical exhibits and a new 360-degree camera.
The site offers a gift shop, kids zone, and a licensed cafe with a sun deck overlooking the Firth of Forth. Families can enjoy seasonal science shows, educational workshops, and events that highlight Scotland’s diverse seabirds and marine life.
