The Mansfield Traquair Centre, formerly the Mansfield Place Church, is a stunning neo-Romanesque building in Edinburgh designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson. Completed in 1885, this Category A Listed Building was originally built for the Catholic Apostolic Church.
This site is famous for its breathtaking interior murals created by Phoebe Anna Traquair. Often described as "Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel," these artworks represent her best-known work. The building features a unique design without aisles, originally intended to provide an unobstructed view of elaborate liturgy.
A monthly open day is held on the second Sunday of each month for public tours - donations welcome. Also private visits can be arranged for a small charge. You can enjoy the magnificent architecture and the vibrant, fully restored Traquair murals within a space that now serves as a unique multi-purpose events venue.
