A 12-mile (19 km) circular route starting and ending at Gorebridge Railway Station. It takes about 5½ hours and includes 1,200 feet of ascent, with mixed terrain from woodland paths to muddy tracks and open fields. Highlights include Vogrie House and Country Park, the River Tyne valley, and the dramatic ruins of Crichton Castle and Church. Walkers pass through quiet countryside, farmland, and historic sites, with plenty of variety along the way. The route requires sturdy footwear, and a good level of fitness.
