Camperdown Country Park is a beautiful 400-acre public park located in Dundee. As the city’s largest park, this significant site comprises the former grounds of the 19th-century Camperdown House and is recognised on the national Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes.
The park is steeped in history, centred around the largest remaining Greek Revival house in Scotland. Renamed to commemorate the 1797 Battle of Camperdown, the estate is famous in horticulture as the origin of the Camperdown Elm. Today, it serves as a major cultural venue, having hosted high-profile music events like BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.
Visitors can explore diverse landscapes featuring over 190 species of trees or enjoy the park’s various recreational facilities. A highlight is the Wildlife Centre, home to over 300 animals across 50 species, including European brown bears and rare pine martens. It is a wonderful destination to experience both historic architecture and nature.
