Brora Distillery
27 minute walk from Brora station · Highlands and Argyll

Brora Distillery is a historic Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery. Originally built in 1819 by the Marquess of Stafford, the site recently resumed production in 2021 after being mothballed for several decades.
This legendary location is significant for its diverse distilling history and rare releases. While it produced heavily peated spirits in the late 1960s, it is also famous for its lightly peated Highland style and prestigious offerings, including a 40-year-old single malt once noted as a record-breaking release.
Today, visitors can experience a fully reactivated distillery where the first new casks of spirit are being filled once again. You can explore a site that has transitioned from its 19th-century origins and a period of silence back into a working landmark of Scottish whisky heritage.
