Ben Nevis Distillery
23 minute walk from Banavie station · Highlands and Argyll

Ben Nevis Distillery is a coastal whisky distillery located in Fort William. Situated at the base of the highest mountain in the British Isles, it serves as a historic landmark in the Western Highlands.
Founded in 1825 by "Long John" McDonald, the site boasts a rich history of innovation. It was among the first to produce both malt and grain whisky simultaneously using a Coffey Still. Since 1989, this independent enterprise has been owned by the Japanese company Nikka Whisky Distilling.
Visitors can enjoy the dedicated visitor centre and cafe, which first opened to the public in 1991. You can learn how the distillery draws its water from Ben Nevis and discover their range of spirits, including the 10-year-old malt and various limited editions.
