Belhaven Bay
29 minute walk from Dunbar station · Edinburgh and South East · Free entry

Belhaven Bay, just west of Dunbar, is a wide sandy beach that forms part of the John Muir Country Park. Known for its open views and natural beauty, it's popular with walkers, birdwatchers, and surfers. At low tide, the sand stretches far out, revealing rock pools and channels, while high tide brings the sea close to the dunes and saltmarsh. The famous “Bridge to Nowhere” becomes submerged when the tide rises, adding to the bay’s character.
